Righteous news - we're almost halfway there! 145 backers and counting, and a huge thank you to ALL of you fine people. YOU ARE SO CHOICE.
Joystick Heroes goes out to the disco.
Some backers have asked: "What else can I do to help Joystick Heroes reach its funding goal?" First, we're so grateful for your enthusiasm! That said, here are some ideas:
SHARE the campaign with friends
SHARE the campaign with family
SHARE the campaign on social media
SHARE the campaign with your local game shop and encourage them to make a retail pledge
Did I mention SHARING? It's pretty important so just checking..
For those who aren't sure exactly what to say, tell them how excited you are about Joystick Heroes being made, what the game's about, how it plays, how fun it looks, etc. And of course don't forget to add the Kickstarter link to make it easy for them to join us:
We also encourage you to join us on Facebook and Instagram for additional nuggets about Joystick Heroes and other games we're working on. We promise not to bite.
Quick note - we've added FAQs that'll hopefully answer some of your questions. If you have additional questions or think we should add anything, send us a message.
Each games in Joystick Heroes tests different arcade skills and favorite genres, which you can level up during the game.
I personally dug games in all 4 of those genres. As a drummer, I had a little extra juice when mashing buttons. My question of the day for YOU is... What is your strongest arcade skill: joysticks, buttons, driving, or shooting? Let us know in the comments!

We're just halfway through Day 2 and we've passed 100 backers and are fast approaching 40% funded! As a brand new publisher I think that's not too shabby. Can't wait till you fine folks are popping tokens and playing retro arcade games right there on your tabletop. Be sure and get a coaster for your slushy and don't bogart the pizza, dude.
We're seeing some love for the game's Heroes today and want to give them the spotlight. Our artist, James Churchill, really knocked these 80's tropes out of the park, don't you think? We asked for his best illustrator's take on characters from our fav 80's movies like Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink and Weird Science and he really delivered. And don't they look friggin' sweet on those dual-layer Hero Boards?!
By the way, can you spot our first stretch goal? How many Heroes did we say the game comes with? ;)
So which Hero are you gonna hit the arcade with - the Geek, thePunk, theJock, theRapper, theOutcast, or thePreppy? Let us know in the comments and thanks again for being some of the world's finest humans.

Greetings, first backers! You've seriously made our month by being here for us when the Joystick Heroes arcade doors opened. As a reward, I'm giving you dibs on those new machines over there in the corner. Go ahead, drop in your tokens and fire them up - the high scores were reset last night so you're definitely gonna be entering your initials. Let's keep this campaign rolling!
As we continue to monitor things and respond to your messages in these opening hours, I wanted to quickly address a common question - how much is shipping gonna be, dude?! We finally received estimates from our fulfillment partners this morning and I've added them to the Kickstarter page, but I thought I'd post the graphic here for you as well:
As you likely know, worldwide shipping kinda sucks right now for everybody, but we're hoping things cool off by the time Joystick Heroes heads your way.
So now a little story for you...
When I was a teenager living in the Midwest, I used to go to the mall with my parents. While they shopped, they'd give me a handful of quarters to burn in the mall arcade. Maaannn, there was no feeling like stepping through those doors with a fistful of coins and a massive roomful of games to play. The arcade was always dark and loud and smelly and some of the machines were covered in random sticky stuff, but I didn't care! I was about to mash buttons and save the galaxy, dude! So many good memories, and those were my motivation for making Joystick Heroes. Now I can give my kids a taste of what it was like to step into a real arcade, all from the comfort of our dining room table.
So what was your favorite arcade game growing up? What was your local arcade like? Let us know in the comments and thanks again for helping us bring Joystick Heroes to life - it's gonna be totally tubular!
